This morning was warmer than it has been in quite a long time. Shortly after noon the husband and I went out, he to break in his new pipe and me to be warm and paint. By the time we arrived to our destination, it was no longer warm, but windy and threatening to rain. So, while he had his short smoke I made a 10ish minute watercolor sketch of what he was doing. I'm not particularly fond of the rendering, but he is pleased. Even with my displeasure, it is the best painting I've made of him and my best quick painting.
